Annville, Pa. (Sept. 5, 2008) – Sophomore Lauren Ertel (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing) put a silver lining on an 8-1 loss to Lebanon Valley Friday afternoon with a three-set win at No. 2 singles, taking the third set by a 10-8 final in non-conference women's tennis action at Lebanon Valley.

The host Dutchmen jumped out to a 3-0 lead with 8-0, 8-2, and 8-4 wins in doubles action and took four more points with straight set wins at 3-6 singles. Sophomore Jenny McKee (York, Pa./York Catholic) nearly gave the Crusaders a second point going three sets at No. 1 singles, but fell 10-5 in the third and deciding set.

Alvernia will continue its four-match, season-opening road trip with its first conference match next Saturday at Wilkes University.
