Gettysburg, Pa. (Jan. 3, 2010) - Alvernia University (5-2) sophomore Angela Altemose (Pottsville, Pa./Nativity BVM) recorded her fourth double-double with 18 points and 16 rebounds and was named to the All-Tournament team, but Gettysburg College improved to 10-0 with a 79-72 win Sunday afternoon in the championship game of the 20th Annual Days Inn Women's Basketball Tournament at Bream Gym.

Gettysburg opened up an 18 point lead with seven minutes left in the first half on the strength of a 21-7 run.  Alvernia cut that gap to nine points three times in the first half and was within seven points with under four minutes to play in the game, but the host Bullets had the answer each time to hold off the comeback attempt.

Alli Toczylowski (Mantua, N.J./Clearview Regional) and Alex Velazquez (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) scored 14 points apiece and Kelli McIntyre (Orwigsburg, Pa./Blue Mountain) added 13.

The Crusaders will continue the current road trip with a non-conference game at The College of New Jersey on Wednesday.
