Hoboken, N.J. (Nov. 21, 2010) - FDU-Florham (3-1) used big runs late in both halves to record an 82-70 victory over Alvernia University (1-2) Sunday afternoon in the consolation game of the Stevens Institute Women's Basketball Tournament.  Alvernia freshman Brittany Young (Columbus, N.J./North Burlington) scored a team-high 16 points and was named to the All-Tournament Team.

FDU ran out to a 17-point lead, 35-18 with 5:49 left in the first half, but the Crusaders were able to cut that down to six points by halftime closing with 18 of the last 25 points.

The Crusaders completed the comeback and took a one-point lead twice in the second half, but FDU put together an 11-4 run late in the game that pushed a six-point lead up to 13 with under two minutes to play.

Alvernia will play at Juniata on Tuesday.
