Crusaders Fall At Juniata

Alvernia Drops Third Straight, 63-70

BOX SCORE

Huntingdon, Pa. (Nov. 23, 2010) - The Crusader Women's Basketball team (1-3) dropped their third straight game with a 63-70 loss at Juniata (3-1).  Alvernia got a game-high 22 points from Shanaye Glenn (Coatesville, Pa./The Hill School) and 12 rebounds from Allie Toczylowski (Mantua, NJ/Clearview Regional) but it was not enough as Juniata prevailed in the back-and-forth second half.

The game opened with a close battle through the first six minutes, with no team leading by more than three points at any time.  At 13:01 Juniata began to slowly build their lead with an 10-4 run to lead 25-14 , but Alvernia battled back to bring the game within one at 30-29 with less than four minutes remaining.  Juniata ended the half with a 7-2 run to lead 37-31 heading into halftime.

Alvernia began to slowly pick away at Juniata's lead in the second half and took the 45-43 lead at 11:07.  This two-point lead was the biggest they would see through the rest of the game as Juniata managed a 12-3 run that earned them a five point lead at 4:37 that would be too much for Alvernia to overcome.

The Crusaders got double-digit points from Glenn, Julie Hahn (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) with 11, and Brittany Young (Columbus, NJ/North Burlington) with ten.

Alvernia returns to action when they travel to Rowan University on Nov. 29th for a 7:00pm tip-off.
