BOX SCORE

Aston, Pa. (Oct. 3, 2011) - The Crusader (2-0) Women's Tennis team defated host Neumann University (2-5) this afternoon by a score of 7-2 in non-conference action at Ethel Sergeant Clark Smith Courts.  The teams competed for two hours and 25 minutes in an unusually brisk late afternoon match.

The Crusader got a win at #2 singles from Jennifer Petrilla (Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton East) by scores of 6-3 and 6-4.  Alvernia also secured wins at #4-#6 singles.  Both #5 player Kellie O'Donnell (Oreland, Pa.) and #6 player Maygan Henzie (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville) swept their opponent by scores of 6-0, 6-0.

Alvernia swept the entire doubles portion of the match, highlighted by a win at #1 doubles from Petrilla and partner Kayla Morgan (Mohrsville, Pa./Hamburg) by a score of 8-6.

The Crusaders return to action on Oct. 4th when they host Rosemont College in a non-conference match beginning at 3:30pm.
