Wilkes-Barre, Pa. (Apr. 3, 2011) - Alvernia University (8-2) ran out to a 3-0 lead after doubles action and split singles play for a 6-3 win over King's College (2-11) Sunday afternoon in non-conference women's tennis action at King's.

The Crusaders started out with an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles behind Jenny McKee (York, Pa./York Catholic) and Kayla Morgan (Mohrsville, Pa./Hamburg) then earned two key points with 9-7 wins at No. 2 and 3 doubles.

The Crusaders continued with wins at No. 1 and 2 singles behind McKee and Lil Snyder (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter Strasburg) to sew up the match then got their sixth point from Laura Ehnes (Roselle Park. Pa./Roselle Park).

Alvernia returns to the conference schedule Tuesday at Arcadia.
