Elizabethtown, Pa. (Apr. 24, 2012) - Elizabethtown College (14-2, 2-3) swept through the doubles matches--including a tie-breaker win at No. 1--en route to a 9-0 win over Alvernia University (7-5, 2-3) Tuesday afternoon in Commonwealth Conference women's tennis action at Elizabethtown.

The Alvernia team of Jen Petrilla (Hamilton, N.J./Hamilton) and Kayla Morgan (Mohrsville, Pa./Hamburg) pushed the Blue Jays No. 1 doubles team to the limit with each winning half of the first 16 games.  Etown pulled out the point--the third of the match--with a 7-4 win in the tiebreaker.

Alvernia returns to the court Saturday to host Lycoming College in the final match of the regular season.  A win Saturday would put the Crusaders into the postseason team tournament.  Alvernia could finish as high as third if Messiah also defeats Albright.
