Reading, Pa. (Apr. 5, 2012) - Lebanon Valley College (10-3, 2-0) earned a hard-fought win at No. 1 doubles and set the tone for a 9-0 sweep of Alvernia University (5-3, 0-1) Thursday afternoon in Commonwealth Conference women's tennis action at Angelica Park.
The Dutchmen won 9-7 at No. 1 doubles then after a pair of 8-3 wins swept the singles matches with five of six being decided in straight sets. Alvernia junior
Kayla Morgan (Mohrsville, Pa./Hamburg) won the first set of her match at No. 2 singles, but Lauren Fulmer came back with a 6-2 win in the second set and took the match with a 10-1 decision in the pro set.
The Crusaders have a rescheduled match with Messiah College next on Tuesday at Angelica Park.
