Elizabethtown, Pa. (May 1, 2012) - Top-seeded Elizabethtown College (16-2) took control with three doubles wins then earned 0-0 wins at No. 4 and 6 singles to take a 5-0 win over #4 Alvernia University (9-6) in semifinal action of the Commonwealth Conference women's tennis tournament at Etown.

The Jays will host #2 Lebanon Valley, a 5-0 win over #3 Albright College in the other semifinal.  In the team tennis tournament once a team reaches five points the other matches are pulled off the courts.

The Crusaders were able to take a few games in the No. 1 doubles match, but the Jays' depth--showing in a pair of 8-0 wins at No. 2 and 3  doubles--got things going for the hosts.  The Jays were in control of all six singles matches, but just needed two to advance.

Alvernia finishes its season at 9-6.
