BOX SCORE Reading, Pa (Dec. 7, 2013) - Alvernia University (4-3, 0-3), couldn't overcome a 20-point deficit and fell to Albright College (4-2, 2-1) 72-59 Saturday afternoon in a Commonwealth Conference women's basketball match up at Jack McCloskey Court.
The Crusaders held the lead for only 40 seconds the entire game, and came out to a slow start in the second half, scoring only four points in the first five minutes as Albright went on an 11-2 run.Â
Alvernia seemed to get a spark of life, cutting a 20-point deficit in half with only two minutes remaining, but it wasn't enough as Albright finished strong to end the game.

Chelsea Ebersole (Palymra, Pa/ Palmyra), was held to only two points in the second half and nine points total after she was forced to the bench with four fouls and 12 minutes remaining in the game.
Overall, the Albright defense held strong throughout the game, allowing only freshman
Tyra Roberts (Bensalem, Pa/ Bensalem) and sophmore
Stevie Fortna (Lebanon, Pa/Lebanon) to entire the double digits in points, with 12 apiece.
Albright's leading scorer was sophomore Kelecia Harris (Blakeslee, Pa/ Pleasant Valley), who scored 19 points, three points better than her season average. Senior Meghan Boyle (Monson, Mass/ Monson) was close behind Harris with 15 points in the game.
The Crusaders don't play at home again until January 4, 2014, when they face Dickinson College in non-conference play, as players and students are heading home for winter break.
