Reading, Pa. (Apr. 9, 2013) - Alvernia University (8-6, 2-1) showed its depth Tuesday afternoon with wins at No. 2 and 3 doubles and each of the last four singles flights for a 6-3 win over crosstown rival Albright College (8-4, 1-2) in Commonwealth Conference women's tennis action at Angelica Park.

All three doubles decisions were decisive with Alvernia winning 8-1 at No. 2 and 8-2 at No. 3 and the Lions taking an 8-0 win at the top flight.  Only one singles match lasted three sets, the No. 4 flight which went to Alvernia junior Jennifer Innamorato (Matawan, N.J./Old Bridge West/East) 6-3, 4-6, 6-1.

Alvernia had a pair of players score two points each as Alyssa Boyd (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) and Rachele Smith (Millville, N.J./Sacred Heart) combined for the 8-1 win at No. 2 then both won at No. 3 and No. 5 singles respectively.

Alvernia continues the conference action at Hood College on Saturday.
