#1 Etown Advances With 5-0 Win Over #4 Alvernia

Elizabethtown, Pa. (May 1, 2013) - Top-seeded Elizabethtown College (15-3) earned a 5-0 win over #4 Alvernia University (9-9) Wednesday afternoon in semifinal action of the Commonwealth Conference Women's Tennis Championships at Alumni Courts.

The Jays have won seven straight conference postseason matches and are appearing in the final for the ninth straight season.  They will take on #2 Lebanon Valley College for the sixth straight season in Saturday's final.

The Crusaders closest match Wednesday was at No. 2 doubles where the team of Rachele Smith (Millville, N.J./Sacred Heart) and Alyssa Boyd (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) extended the match to 9-7. Etown took a 3-0 lead after doubles play and won at No. 3 and 4 singles to close out the first-to-5 match.
