BOX SCORE 1 | BOX SCORE 2 Bethlehem, Pa. (Aug. 29, 2014) - Alvernia University (1-1) extended Moravian University (2-0) in all three sets of a 3-0 loss in the opening match of the Greyhound Premiere Volleyball Tournament then bounced back to advance to Saturday's Gold Bracket with a 3-0 win over The College of New Rochelle.

Moravian took the first game of the match by a 25-22 final then scored a 25-21 win in game two before closing out a 25-18 win in the third game.  The Crusaders turned the tables with a 25-22 win in the opening game of the match against New Rochelle then needed extra time for a pair of 27-25 wins in games two and three.

Liz Newman recoreded a team-high seven kills in the Moravian match while Kristen Sipling and McKenna Achenbach added six kills apiece in their first collegiate competition.  Jamie Morris dished out 15 assists in the match.

Stats from the second match were not complete as of press time.

Alvernia is back on the court Saturday at 10:00 a.m. against an opponent that is still to be determined and will close out the tournament against Emmanuel (Mass.) College at 2:00 p.m.
