Glenside, Pa. (Sept. 13, 2014) - Alvernia University (3-0) jumped out to a 3-0 lead after doubles play then took five of six singles matches for an 8-1 win over Arcadia University (1-2) Saturday morning in non-conference women's tennis action at Arcadia.
The match was wisely moved up to a 9:00 a.m. start with weather threatening .
Alvernia made quick work of the doubles matches losing just six total games in the three matches.
Julie Seidel won the No. 1 singles match when her Arcadia opponent, Kaila Gaughan retired. The five other singles matches were all won in straight sets with Alvernia's
Becca Perkins and
Cassandra Noray taking 4 and 5 respectively 6-0, 6-0.
Alvernia continues the non-conference schedule Monday at Cabrini.
