Radnor, Pa. (Sept. 15, 2014) – Alvernia University (4-0) swept every matches in straight sets to finish with a 9-0 win over Cabrini College Monday afternoon in non-conference women's tennis action.
Julie Seidel and
Alyssa Boyd improved to 2-0 together in doubles action, winning the No. 1 doubles match 8-3. Both players also improved to 4-0 in singles play, matching the team's overall record.
Sophomore
Becca Perkins and partner
Kristy Schwenk secured the 8-5 win at No.2 double before claiming their individual wins.
The freshman duo of
Cassandra Noray and
Emily Thek picked up their second win together with an 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles. Noray also earned her third consecutive win in singles play while Thek extended her singles record to 2-0.
Alvernia will return to action next Wednesday, hosting Penn State Berks its first home match of the season.
