Chester, Pa. (Oct. 28, 2015) - Widener University (8-8-1, 4-3) scored three goals in the first half of a 5-0 win over Alvernia University (7-6-5, 2-4-1) Wednesday evening in MAC Commonwealth Men's Soccer action at Widener.
The Pride moved into a tie for third place in the league standings while the Crusaders have fallen out of postseason consideration with one game to play.
Widener's Tori Remondelli scored in the 22nd minute and again in the 30th minute to open up a 2-0 lead for the hosts. Widener scored with just more than a minute left in the first half for a 3-0 lead at the break then added two more goals in the second half.

Zach Rider made five saves in net for the Crusaders.
Alvernia will finish up the regular season on Saturday at Messiah College and await a possible ECAC bid to be announced on Monday, November 9.
