Reading, Pa. (Apr. 9, 2015) - Alvernia University (7-2) fell behind 3-0 after doubles play and nearly pulled off the comeback winning four of six singles matches, but ultimately fell to Moravian College (6-5) by a 5-4 final Thursday afternoon in non-confernece women's tennis action at Angelica Park.

The Greyhounds took the three flights by doubles by scores of 8-6, 8-1, and 8-6 to jump out to the early lead.  Alvernia got straigth set wins at No. 2 singles from Cassandra Noray, and at No. 5 and 6 from Kristy Schwenk and Emily Thek.  Alyssa Boyd needed three sets to take a point at No. 3 singles while the No. 1 match also went three sets.  Julie Seidel won the opening set, but saw Moravian's Brittney Eady come back wtih a 6-3 win in the second set and tak the final set 7-5.

Alvernia returns to the conference schedule Saturday hosting Hood College.
