Radnor, Pa. (Sept. 19, 2015) - Alvernia University (3-1-3) collected its third draw of the year, ending 1-1 with Cabrini College (4-1-2) Saturday afternoon in non-conference men's soccer action at Cabrini.
After a scoreless first half, the Crusaders opened the scoring just before the 57-minute mark in the second half. Alvernia made the most of a defensive miscue by the Cavaliers as
Nick Bombard gathered the loose ball and drove in the 1-0 go ahead.
Cabrini scored the equalizer in the 76th minute as AJ Bishop netted the Cavaliers lone goal.
The Crusaders ripped one shot in the first overtime, and four in the second, but the Cavaliers defense kept Alvernia's three shots on goal out of the net.
Alvernia led Cabrini in every offensive category, outshooting the Cavaliers 21-13 and holding the 5-3 advantage in corners.
Crusaders goalie
Zach Rider collected five saves on the day.
Alvernia continues the non-conference schedule on Wednesday, hosting Elizabethtown College at 7:00 in the Kicks For Cancer game.
