Crusaders Drop Two At York Tournament

BOX SCORE 1 York, Pa. (Sept. 26, 2015) - Alvernia University (8-9) dropped a pair of 3-0 decisions Saturday at the York College Women's Volleyball Tournament.

The Crusaders lost the opener 3-0 to FDU-Florham (13-3) then fell to LaRoche College (8-7) in the second match.

Alvernia freshman Laura Wachowicz led the attack with nine kills in the FDU match.  The Devils prevailed by set scores of 18, 19, and 19.  

Classmate Emily Smith had her second strong hitting performance of the weekend against LaRoche hitting .400 with 12 kills and two errors on 25 swings.  LaRoche won a pair of 25-23 sets to get out to a 2-0 lead then closed the match with a 25-15 score in the final set.

Alvernia returns to action Tuesday at Messiah and will see FDU-Florham again next weekend at a MAC Crossover match hosted by the Devils.
