Falcons Blank Crusaders, 9-0

Grantham, Pa. (Apr. 16, 2016) - Messiah College (5-5, 3-0) opened with a pair of 8-5 wins in doubles play to set the tone for a 9-0 win over Alvernia University (7-7, 3-1) Saturday afternoon in MAC Conference women's tennis action at Messiah.

The Falcons took the first three singles matches in straight sets. Emily Thek opened No.4 singles with a 6-2 win in the first set, but Messiah's Sydney Schandel took the next two to capture the win.

Alvernia continues conference play on Tuesday, hosting Stevenson University at 3:30 pm.
