Cassandra Noray and
Amanda Phillips advanced to the semifinals at No. 1 doubles in the MAC Women's Tennis Individual Championships Saturday afternoon at Kriby Park.
Noray and Phillips--seeded second in the No. 1 doubles bracket--advanced out of the first round with an 8-1 win over the team from Delaware Valley. They were able to handle Eastern in the quarterfinals, 8-5, and will face the #3 seed from Stevenson in the semifinals on Sunday. DeSales is the only unseeded team remaining in the bracket having defeated the #4 seed in the opening round. They will face the top-seeded team from Wilkes on Sunday.
Noray also represented Alvernia in the No. 1 singles draw where she advanced to the quarterfinals before dropping out to #4 seed Mara Trifoi (Albright). Phillips was seeded fourth at No. 2 and dropped her opening round match, 7-5, 6-4 to Amber Auchenback (DeSales).
Alivia Lopez lost 6-1, 6-0 to Sammy Bost (LVC) in opening round action at No. 3 singles,
Leah Kemper fell to Alex Rodier (DeSales) 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4, and
Maria Figurelli lost in straight sets to Gabby Serratore (DeSales) in the No. 7 singles bracket.Â
