Reading, Pa. (Oct. 7, 2017) - Bryn Mawr College (3-1) defeated Alvernia University (1-3) Saturday morning by a 7-2 final in non-conference women's tennis action at Angelica Park.

The Owls had a pair of convincing wins at No. 1 and 2 doubles and earned a forfeit win at No. 3 for an early 3-0 lead.

Alvernia struck back with big wins at No. 1 and 2 singles.  Cassandra Noray took the win at No. 1 when her opponent retired with a 1-1 score in the first set.  Amanda Phillips put the second point on the board for the Golden Wolves with a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 2.

Bryn Mawr earned straight-set wins at No. 3, 4, and 5 singles and took a forfeit point at No. 6 singles.

Alvernia is back in action at DeSales University on Wednesday.
