Crusaders Top Mustangs, 7-2

Owings Mill, MD. (Apr. 13, 2017) - Alvernia University claimed five of six singles matches in a 7-2 victory over Stevenson University Thursday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth women's tennis action at Stevenson.

The Crusaders opened the contest with a pair of wins at No.1 and 2 doubles.

Leading 2-1 entering singles, Alvernia took straight set wins in flights 1-5.

Alyssa Boyd did not surrender a point to Stevenson's Kelsi Mentzer at No.3 singles, and Cassandra Noray claimed both of her sets 6-3 at No.1.

Alvernia currently sits third overall in the MAC rankings.

The Crusaders return to competition on Wednesday, hosting Arcadia at 3:30 pm.
