Owings Mill, Md. (Jan. 12, 2018) - Stevenson University (9-6, 4-3) defeated Alvernia University (3-12, 0-7) 72-32 in MAC Commonwealth women's basketball action Saturday afternoon at Stevenson.

The Golden Wolves kept it tight early, trailing 10-8 after a 3 from Kiersten Ingram, but Stevenson scored the final nine points of the quarter for a 19-8 lead after the first 10 minutes.  The hosts outscored the guests 17-8 in the second quarter and held a 36-16 lead at halftime.

Stevenson continued to pull away in the third quarter on its way to the win.

Alvernia got a team-high eight points and nine rebounds from sophomore Torie Zerbe.  Olivia Coleman had a game-high 14 points for the Mustangs.

Alvernia returns home to host crosstown rival Albright College on Wednesday.
