Reading, Pa. (Nov 12, 2022) - Stevenson University (3-3-0) scored five goals in the second period to take down Alvernia University (3-2-1) 10-1, in a UCHC men's ice hockey matchup Saturday night at BodyZone. 

Stevenson tallied the first goal of the night four minutes into the contest when Anthony Starzi found the back of the net to give the Mustangs a 1-0 lead. 

The Golden Wolves would hold Stevenson to just one goal in the first period and went into the first intermission down 1-0. 

Stevenson opened the second period with two goals in 25 seconds to quickly make it a 3-0 game five minutes into the period. The Mustangs then scored two more goals in the eight minute and the tenth minute to extend the lead to 5-0. Austin Master finished off the second period scoring with a goal in the 16th minute to push the lead to 6-0 heading into the final intermission. 

Stevenson tallied four in the final stanza with three of them coming in the fifth, six and seventh minutes of the period, increasing the Stevenson lead to 9-0. 

The Golden Wolves pulled one back when Andrew Bechard found Peter Falivena who ripped a shot that went bar down in the top right corner of the goal. 

The Mustangs added one more with four minutes left in the contest to make it ten. 

Colin Cain and Ian Graiff split time in net for the Golden Wolves with Cain making 14 saves and Graiff tallying 18. 

Alvernia was led by Falivena with the lone goal, Bechard added an assist. Frazer Dodd tallied a team high five shots on goal with Falivena and Hunter Alden finishing with three. 

The Golden Wolves are back in action Friday when they open up their weekend series with Nazareth College, game time set for 7:00 PM at BodyZone.
