Reading, Pa. (Feb. 26, 2022)- Alvernia University men's track and field team was led by
Emmanuel Rodriguez Jr. on day two of the MAC Championships Saturday afternoon on the campus of Alvernia University.

Rodriguez Jr. kicked off the day for the Golden Wolves, securing a fifth-place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:59.73. This time was fast enough to give Rodriguez a podium finish and break his own personal best time in the 800-meter.

Jack Short also secured a podium finish on the day. Short recorded a time of 23.22 seconds in the 200-meter dash, which gave him an eighth-place finish.

Matthew Wacker had another great day, as he broke his second school record this week. Wacker recorded a time of 9:06.15 in the 3000-meter run, beating the previous record by over nine seconds. The previous record had been held by Nichols Stum and had been set at the MAC Championships in 2016.

The Golden Wolves recorded another podium finish, with the 4x800-meter relay team recording an eighth-place finish. Leading the team were
Adam Loehr,
Segin Neiswender,
Emmanuel Rodriguez Jr., and
Elisiah Jerome.

The Golden Wolves ended the MAC Championship with six total podium finishes and finished in 12
th place out of 14 teams.
