Reading, Pa. (March 28, 2022) - Alvernia University Women's Lacrosse senior Erika Whitmoyer and Men's Volleyball first-year Nick Cummins were named Alvernia Athletes of the Week for their performances during the week of March 21-March 28, 2022.

Erika Whitmoyer  led Alvernia's offense to a 1-1 week. The senior scored 12 goals and added three assists on the week. In an 18-13 win over Elizabethtown, Whitmoyer scored eight goals and added one assist to lead Alvernia to a come-back win and become just the fifth player in Alvernia history to record 200 career points. She also scored four goals and two assists in a 21-10 setback to 9-1 Marymount.

Nick Cummins finished a 2-2 week for Alvernia with 42 kills on 89 attacks for a .258 attack percentage. He also added nine service aces on the week and eight blocks.In a three set win over Widener on Tuesday, Cummins had ten kills on 19 attacks. He also added nine kills on 20 attacks in a four set win over Wilkes on Saturday. 

Women's Lacrosse returns to action on Wednesday at #13 York College. Men's Volleyball has its home regular-season finale on Wednesday versus Eastern University.
