St. Davids, Pa. (April 12, 2022) - Alvernia University (9-3, 3-1) dominated in a 9-0 win over Eastern University (1-7, 0-4) on Tuesday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth women's tennis action at Eastern.

The Golden Wolves gave up just one game in the entire match to the Eagles and took every match in straight sets. 

Alvernia jumped out to a 3-0 lead after doubles action with the duos of Leah Bouchard and Lily Summerson, and Jillian Laughman and Jacklyn Checo Mercado each taking 8-0 wins. Eastern forfeited #3 doubles for the 3-0 lead going into singles.

The Golden Wolves continued to roll in singles action. Bouchard, Laughman, Summerson, and Checo Mercado each won their singles matches by 6-0, 6-0 decisions. Rachel Rineer took her #3 singles match by a 6-1, 6-0 decision. The Eagles forfeited #6 singles as Alvernia took the 9-0 win.

With three matches left in the regular season, the Golden Wolves sit in second overall in MAC Commonwealth standings. Alvernia continues on with its conference schedule on Wednesday, April 20th against Albright.
