Reading, Pa. (April 23, 2022) - Alvernia University (11-3, 5-1) moved to 5-1 in MAC Commonwealth play and clinched a postseason appearance with a 7-2 win over Stevenson University (11-3, 5-1) in its final home match of the regular season on Saturday. 

The Golden Wolves are now 5-1 in MAC Commonwealth play, and are just one game off of Lebanon Valley for first place.

Alvernia took a 2-1 lead after doubles with the duos of Leah Bouchard and Lily Summerson and Rachel Rineer and Dareen Alanzai, and Jillian Laughman and Jacklyn Checo Mercado picking up 8-2 wins. 

The Golden Wolves then went 5-for-6 in singles play. Bouchard, Laughman, Rineer, Summerson, and Checo-Mercado each picked up wins in singles play for Alvernia.

The Golden Wolves return to action on Saturday at York.
