Colin McFadyen responded with a goal thanks to an assist from Keenan with under five to play in the quarter and gave the Golden Wolves a 2-1 lead after one quarter of play.

Alvernia then ripped off a five goal quarter in the second stanza with Gilman finding the back of the net with just under ten minutes to go in the half to make it 3-1 Golden Wolves. McFadyen and Gilman tallied two more goals within the next five minutes to extend the lead to four, 5-1 with under five to play in the half.
