Women's Tennis Picks Up Big Win at Stevenson

BOX SCORE Owings Mills, Md. (April 14, 2023) - Alvernia University (7-4) picked up a crucial MAC Commonwealth win over Stevenson University (5-5, 2-2) on Friday afternoon in women's tennis action at Stevenson.

Alvernia jumped out to a 2-1 lead after doubles action as the duos of Leah Bouchard and Lily Summerson and Jillian Laughman and Elizabeth Danovich picked up 8-1 and 8-0 wins, respectively and #1 and #2 doubles.

Alvernia then picked up four straight wins at #1 through #4 singles play.

Bouchard went 6-3, 6-3 at #1 singles, and Summerson went 6-4, 6-0 at # singles. Laughman kept it rolling with a 6-1, 6-1 win at #3 singles, and Danovich capped things off with a 6-3, 6-1 win at #4 singles. Sarah Mies was narrowly edged out at #5 singles by a 6-3, 3-6, 9-11 loss. But, Alvernia came away with the 6-3 win in MAC Commonwealth action.

Alvernia is back in action on Sunday hosting York.
