BOX SCORE Reading, Pa. (April 22, 2023) - Alvernia Women's Tennis (10-5, 5-2) closed out its regular season with an 8-1 win over Hood College (4-9, 1-6) on Saturday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth tennis action at the Governor Mifflin courts. 

The win marked Alvernia's third straight to enter MAC Commonwealth playoffs on a three match win streak.

Alvernia jumped out to a 3-0 lead after doubles action as Leah Bouchard and Lily Summerson, and Jillian Laughman and Rachel Rineer picked up 8-3 wins at #1 and #2 doubles. Sarah Mies and Maria Brisita picked up a win by default at #3 doubles.

In singles action, Bouchard did not let up a game as she took her #1 singles, 6-0, 6-0. Lily Summerson dropped her first set at #2 singles, but came back for a three set win to pick up another point for Alvernia.

Laughman went 6-3, 6-0 at #3 singles and Rineer went 6-2, 6-0 at #4 singles. Alvernia let one match up at #5 singles, and the Golden Wolves picked up their final point as Mies won by default at #6 singles.

Alvernia is back in action on Wednesday at #2 York for the MAC Commonwealth semifinals.
