#2 York Defeats #3 Alvernia in MAC Commonwealth Semis

BOX SCORE York, Pa. (April 27, 2023) - #2 York College (12-5) took a 5-1 win over #3 Alvernia University (10-6) in the MAC Commonwealth Women's Tennis Semifinal on Thursday at York.

The Spartans started out with a 3-0 sweep of doubles as they took 8-0, and 8-5 wins at #1 and #2, respectively. Alvernia had to default #3 doubles to give the Spartans their third point.

York then picked up its fourth point on a default at #6 singles. Alvernia picked up a point as Leah Bouchard won by injury default at #1 singles, but the Spartans grabbed their fifth and final point on a 6-0, 6-0 sweep at #5 singles.

Today's loss marks the conclusion of Alvernia's 2022-23 season.
