Alvernia Falls to King’s, 3-1

Reading, Pa (November 15, 2024) - Alvernia University (2-3, 1-2) dropped a MAC men's ice hockey matchup to King's College (1-3, 1-0) 3-1, Friday night at BodyZone. 

The Monarchs netted goals in all three periods en route to the 3-1 victory over the Golden Wolves. 

How it Happened
  • King's got on the board first with just over 11 minutes left in the first period when Kent Lee found the back of the net after assists from Ethan Hersant and Michael Harrel Jr. 
  • The Golden Wolves fired five shots on goal in the final ten minutes but could not find the back of the net as the Monarch's took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission. 
  • King's came out of the first intermission and netted its second goal just 22 seconds into the second period after Hersant found the back of the net thanks to assists from Lee and Teodor Benno Vaage to make it 2-0 King's. 
  • The Golden Wolves ripped 22 shots on goal in the second period but could not find the back of the net as the Monarchs took a 2-0 lead into the final period. 
  • Alvernia pulled within one with just over six minutes to go in the third period when Nolan Barrett put the puck into the back of the net thanks to assists from Brock Mueller and Riley Egan made it 2-1. 
  • The Monarchs added an empty net insurance goal in the final two minutes of the game after Patrick Nowak put the puck into the empty net to secure the 3-1 victory for the Monarchs.
