Shaw Leads Golden Wolves at Shorty Hitchcock Memorial

Millersville, Pa (November 16, 2024) - Keito Shaw recorded a second place finish in the 125 pound bracket to lead the Golden Wolves at the Shorty Hitchcock Memorial Invitational Saturday in men's wrestling action at Millersville. 

Shaw took second, Nathan Lackman recorded a third place finish at 174 pounds and Matthew Lackman took fourth in the 165 pound bracket. 

How it Happened 
  • Keito Shaw started his day with a 12-0 major decision over Sussex County's Roman Citro and then recorded another major decision over Millersville's Dom Flat with a 15-7 score to advance to the quarterfinal. Shaw recorded a 17-2 tech fall over Michael Walls from Camden County Community College then took down F&M's Charlie Colantonlo 13-1 in the semifinal bout to advance to the championship. Shaw then lost by fall to PRCT's Davis Motyka to secure second place honors. 
  • Nathan Lackman started his day with a 15-2 major decision over Victor Marks-Jenkins and then recorded a pin over Felician's Williams Larosiliere. Lackman then recorded a 4-2 decision over Justin Philip from Virginia but dropped the semifinal bout to Blair Academy's William Henckel by decision, 2-0 to drop to the third place bout. Lackman then took down Lance Urbas by major decision, 20-6 to secure third place honors in the 174 pound bracket. 
  • Matthew Lackman started his day with back to back 15-0 tech falls over Jimmy Do and Joshua Montesino to advance to the 165 pound quarterfinal. Lackman then took down Sean Seefeldt 4-1 but dropped the semifinal match to Louie Cerchio 2-1. Lackman then medically forfeited in the third place match to take fourth overall in the 165 pound bracket. 
  • Jason Chiodi wrestled in the 197 pound bracket for the Golden Wolves and tallied an 11-0 major decision in his first match of the day but then dropped his second match to Eli Pack by way of a pin. Chiodi then fell to Mason Ellis in his third match, 15-3 and saw his day come to an end with a 1-2 record. 
  • Ryan LePore competed in the 165 pound bracket for the Golden Wolves. LePore dropped his first match of the day by fall to Eddie Terreri and then fell to Jimmy Pitcock by decision, 18-12. LePore ended the day with an 0-2 record. 
  • Sam Myers wrestled in the 197 pound bracket for the Golden Wolves and dropped his first match to RJ Moore, 14-1. Myers then received a bye but then dropped his second match of the day to Aaro Llanas, 17-4. Myers finished with a 0-2 record. 
  • Will Knapp rounded out the wrestlers for the Golden Wolves and competed in the 174 pound bracket. Knapp dropped his first match of the day to Cooper Haase by tech fall, 17-2 but bounced back with an 18-3 tech fall of his own over Jose Alvarenga. Knapp then dropped his third bout of the day to Andrew Christle by tech fall, 16-0 and saw his day come to an end with a 1-2 record.
