Frederick, Md. (April 6, 2024) - Alvernia Men's Tennis (4-4, 1-0) opened its MAC Commonwealth schedule with a statement 9-0 win over Hood College (0-6, 0-1) on Saturday afternoon in men's tennis action at Hood.

How it Happened

• Alvernia got off to an automatic 3-0 lead after Hood was unable to field #3 doubles and #5 and #6 singles.
• Alvernia picked up two shutout wins at #1 and #2 singles. The duo of Lucas Berger and Jayden Lewis picked up the 8-0 win at #1 singles, and Thomas Figurelli with Luke Brisbois picked up the 8-0 win at #2 singles.
• Berger kept it rolling at #1 singles, taking his match 6-0, 6-0 as he did not allow a set point on the afternoon.
• Lewis picked up a 6-2, 6-0 win at #2 singles, and Figurelli won his match at #3 singles, 6-0, 6-1.
• Brisbois joined Berger with a shutout win at #4 singles, 6-0, 6-0, as he also did not allow a point on the day.
