Golden Wolves Fall to Knights, 4-1

Colmar, Pa (January 18, 2025) - Alvernia University (7-9-0, 5-7-0) dropped a MAC men's ice hockey matchup to Arcadia University (8-5-2, 6-2-2) 4-1, Saturday afternoon at Arcadia. 

The Knights tallied three goals in the second period and added the fourth in the third period en route to the 4-1 victory. 

How it Happened
  • A scoreless first period was highlighted by the Knights outshooting the Golden Wolves 21-19 overall and 12-10 on target, the game headed into the first intermission tied at zero. 
  • Arcadia opened things up in the first three minutes of the second period when Connor Dennis found the back of the net to make it 1-0 Knights. 
  • The Knights made it 2-0 seven minutes later when Drew Iannucci scored a powerplay goal which proved to be the winner as Arcadia led 2-0 with just over ten to play in the second period. 
  • Arcadia tallied its third goal of the period with five to go in the second after Donnie Feldman netted an unassisted goal to give the Knights a 3-0 lead heading into the final intermission. 
  • The Golden Wolves pulled within two just over three minutes into the final period when Owen Noll netted an unassisted power play goal to cut the Arcadia lead to 3-1. 
  • The Knights and the Golden Wolves went scoreless for the next 15 minutes of the period before Arcadia tallied its fourth goal of the game in the final two minutes when Jude Cole recorded an empty netter to secure the 4-1 victory. 

Inside the Box Score
  • Owen Noll was the lone goal scorer for the Golden Wolves which was also the first of his career. 
  • Edvin Robertsson led with eight total shots and six shots on goal. 
  • Sean Kenny and Matthew Davies both recorded five shots on goal and Davies added two blocks. 
  • Matthew Imbriano recorded four shots on goal and led with nine faceoff wins. 
  • Jacob Stern recorded 34 saves in net for the Golden Wolves.
