Williams Leads Golden Wolves at The Battle at Bulle Rock

Harve de Grace, Md. (October 14, 2025) - Alvernia University's Shawn Williams recorded a one over 73 in round one of The Battle at Bulle Rock Tuesday at Bulle Rock Golf Club

The Golden Wolves are in seventh place after day one with a team score of 321.

How it Happened

Shawn Williams led the way with a one over 73 on the first day of The Battle at Bulle Rock and is in third place. Williams started his day with four straight pars before taking a double at the fifth hole pushed him to two over for the round. Williams then carded a par to bounce back but a bogey at the seventh pushed him to three over. Williams responded with a birdie at the eighth and a par at the ninth to card a 38 on the front nine. Williams then rattled off an impressive back nine with eight pars and a birdie at the 14th. Williams recorded a four par stretch to start the back nine and end the back nine to post a one under 35 on the back nine and card a 73 on the day.
Zachary Neuin followed Williams with a day two score of 80 and is in a tie for 26th place. Neuin started his round a little rocky with a few bogeys but righted the ship and recorded three pars and a birdie at the par four ninth to card a 40 on the front nine. Neuin then recorded back to back pars to start the back nine and posted a birdie at the 14th but a few bogeys and big numbers saw him post another 40 on the back nine and an 80 on the day.
Jacob DeWitt recorded a day one score of 81 and is in a tie for 32nd place. DeWitt started his day with four straight pars before a few bogeys pushed him to three over but two more pars at the end of his front nine got him back on track to post a 39 on the front nine. DeWitt then bogeyed the tenth hole before rattling off another four hole stretch of pars but a few bogeys on the final four holes of his back nine saw him post a 42 on the back nine and an 81 for the round.
Matthew Overholt rounded out the counting scores for the Golden Wolves on day one and carded an 87 and is in tie for 57th place. Overholt recorded three pars in his first four holes but then had big numbers plague his front nine as he posted a 45 on the front. Overholt then recorded four pars on the back nine but more bogeys derailed his back nine as he posted a 42 on the back and an 87 on the day.
Matthew Gagliardi recorded a day one score of 90 and is currently in a tie for 64th place. Gagliardi recorded three pars on the front nine and recorded a 44 on the front after a stretch of bogeys. Gagliardi recorded four pars on the back nine but more bogeys and a few big numbers hampered his back nine as he carded a 46 on the back.
Jakob Chapman rounded out the scores for Alvernia and played as an individual. Chapman carded an 86 in round one and is currently in a tie for 52nd place. Chapman recorded a 42 on the front nine with two pars and a birdie at the par five eighth hole. Chapman then carded four pars on the back nine but had bogeys and a big number caused him to post a 44 on the back and an 86 on the round.
