Williams Takes Third, Golden Wolves Finish Fifth at The Battle at Bulle Rock

Harve de Grace, Md. (October 15, 2025) - Alvernia University men's golf recorded a fifth place finish at The Battle at Bulle Rock Wednesday and senior Shawn Williams finished in a tie for third place to lead the Golden Wolves at Bulle Rock Golf Club.

The Golden Wolves finished in fifth place after a day two total of 306. The Golden Wolves improved 15 strokes from round one and finished with a two day total of 627.

How it Happened

Shawn Williams recorded a day two score of 75 en route to his T3 finish for the tournament. Williams recorded two bogeys in his first three holes but then ripped off six straight pars to end his front nine and card a two over 38 on the front. Williams then tallied back to back pars to start his second nine holes but then carded another set of bogeys at 12 and 13. Williams would bounce back though with four pars in his final five holes and a birdie at the 16th to card a 37 on the back nine and a 75 on the day. Williams finished with a two day total of 148 (+4)
Zachary Neuin also recorded a three over 75 on the second day of the tournament and finished in a tie for 18th place. Neuin carded three bogeys and a big number in his first nine holes but also tallied three birdies and two pars to post a two over 38 on the front nine. Neuin then went to work on the back nine and recorded seven pars and a birdie on the par three 12th but a double on the 16th hampered his back nine as he carded a 37 and finished with a 75 on the day. Neuin finished with a two-day total of 155 (+11).
Matthew Overholt recorded a round two score of 77 and recorded two birdies and three pars on the front nine but he also carded four bogeys which pushed him to two over par on the front nine. Overholt then bounced back with four pars and two birdies in the next seven holes but two big numbers on 17 and 18 saw him card a 39 on the back and finish with a 77 on the day. Overholt recorded a two day total of 164 (+20) and finished in a tie for 45th place.
Jacob DeWitt recorded the fourth and final score for the Golden Wolves in the 70's and recorded a day two score of 79. DeWitt recorded two bogeys and a double in his first three holes but then bounced back with five straight pars and a birdie at the ninth to card a 39 on the front nine. DeWitt would go onto card four bogeys on the back nine but recorded five pars on his other five holes to post a 40 on the back and a 79 on the day. DeWitt finished with a two day total of 160 (+16) and finished in a tie for 34th place.
Matthew Gagliardi recorded a day two score of 85 and finished in 64th place for the tournament. Gagliardi recorded three pars and a birdie at the fifth hole on his front nine but had bogeys and a double caused him to shoot a 41 on the front nine. Gagliardi then recorded another three pars and a birdie at 15 but more bogeys and big numbers saw him card a 44 on the back nine and a 85 on the day. Gagliardi finished with a two day total of 175 (+31).
Jakob Chapman rounded out the scores for the Golden Wolves on Wednesday and carded an 87 in round two. Chapman tallied three pars and a birdie at the second hole on his first nine holes and carded a 42 on the front. Chapman then posted three pars on the back nine but big numbers and bogeys saw him post a 45 on the back and an 87 on the day. Chapman finished with a two day total of 173 (+29) and finished in a tie for 61st place.
