Alvernia Closes Out Fall Season with 5-2 win at Berks

Reading, Pa. (Oct. 4, 2025) - Women's Tennis (1-0) closed out the fall season with a 5-2 win over Penn State Berks (0-4) on Saturday afternoon in non-conference women's tennis action at Berks.

The Golden Wolves won doubles competition, 2-1, to pick up the first point of the match. Alvernia took #1 doubles with Jillian Laughman and Monica Nguyen taking a 6-1 win. The Golden Wolves then took #2 doubles as well as Cora Parson and Noelle De Magistris took a 6-2 win over the Lions to pick up the point available at doubles play.

At singles play, Laughman took #1 singles, 6-1, 6-0, to give Alvernia the 2-0 lead. At #2 singles, Nguyen won the first set, 6-2, but dropped the second, 6-4. She then secured the match with a 10-4 win in the tiebreaker set. De Magistris took #3 singles, 6-3, 6-3, and Parsons secured the final point of the day for Alvernia with an 8-1 win at #4 singles.

Today marked the final day of the fall season for Alvernia.
