Mohnton, Pa (October 7, 2025) - Alvernia University grabbed the team title for the second straight year at its home fall invitational Tuesday behind a one over 73 round from Shawn Williams at Alvernia's home course, LedgeRock Golf Club. 

Shawn Williams finished in a tie for first place but lost out on low medalist honors to Jon Breinich after a match of cards on the back nine. As a team, the Golden Wolves bested a mix of Division II and Division III teams en route to the title and recorded a team score of 310, three shots ahead of crosstown rivals Albright who posted a 313. 

How it Happened 

• Shawn Williams finished in a tie for first place with a one over round of 73. Williams rattled off six straight pars on the front nine before a bogey at the seventh. Williams bounced back with a birdie at the eighth and then carded a par at the ninth to post an even par 36. Williams then recorded two bogeys on the back nine but bounced back with three birdies but a double on ten saw him post a 37 on the back nine and finished his round with a 73. 
• Matthew Overholt posted a T16 finish with a round of 79 in his first home invitational and tallied five pars on the front nine but three bogeys and a double at the sixth saw him card a 41 on the front nine. Overholt bounced back with five pars and a birdie on the back nine to card a two over, 38 and finish the day with a 79. 
• Chase Smith also recorded a 79 in his first home invitational and finished in a tie for 16th as well. Smith carded five pars on his front nine but also tallied three bogeys and a double at the fifth to post a 41 on the front nine. Smith responded with six pars on the back nine and a birdie at the 18th to post a 38 on the back nine and a 79 on the round. 
• Matthew Gagliardi recorded the third 79 on the Golden Wolves and also finished in a tie for 16th place. Gagliardi recorded a 41 on the front nine with two pars on the front and two birdies at six and eight. Gagliardi then carded a birdie at the tenth and at the 15th and also recorded pars at the 11th, 14th and 16th to post a 38 on the back nine and a 79 on the day. 
• Zachary Neuin finished in a tie for 26th place and recorded an 81 on the day. Neuin recorded a 43 on the front nine and tallied two pars and a birdie on the ninth but he had a few big numbers to derail his front nine. Neuin then posted five pars on the back nine and a birdie at the 18th to card a 38 on the back nine and an 81 on the day. 
• Matt Davies carded an 81 on the day as well and finished in a tie for 26th place. Davies tallied three pars and two birdies on the front nine but a few bogeys and a double saw him card a 39 on the front nine. Davies then tallied four pars on the back nine but more bogeys derailed his back nine and saw him card a 42 on the back nine. 
• Jacob DeWitt carded an 83 on the day and finished in a tie for 33rd place. DeWitt recorded six pars on the front nine and three bogeys to card a 39 on the front nine. DeWitt tallied just two pars on the back nine as bogeys hampered his back nine and posted a 44. 
• Jakob Chapman rounded out the scores for the Golden Wolves with an 84 on the day and finished in a tie for 36th place. Chapman tallied a 41 on the front nine and tallied a birdie at the eighth and four pars. Chapman also carded a birdie on the par three tenth and two pars on the back nine to post a 43 and card a 84 on the day.
