Big First Half Leads Alvernia Past Delaware Valley, 16-2

Doylestown, Pa (March 15, 2025) - Alvernia University (4-1) recorded an 11 goals first half and held Delaware Valley (3-2) to just two goals in the entire game en route to a 16-2 victory over the Aggies in a non-conference men's lacrosse matchup Saturday afternoon at Delaware Valley. 

How it Happened 
  • The Golden Wolves rattled off four goals in the first ten minutes of the first quarter to take an early 4-0 lead. Kenny Howley, Charles Oberman, Jack Keenan and Colin McFadyen all netted goals for the Golden Wolves. 
  • Delaware Valley grabbed one back with two minutes to go in the first quarter but the Golden Wolves responded with two goals from Peter Capasso and James Sparacio in the final minute of the quarter to take a 6-1 lead. 
  • Alvernia then tacked on five goals in the second quarter of the game and held the Aggies scoreless. Howley and Sparacio both netted their second goals of the game and Zackary Moats, Ethan McManus and Zach Kreis all found the back of the net as the Golden Wolves took an 11-1 lead into the half. 
  • Alvernia pushed the lead to 14-1 in the third quarter after McManus netted two more and Sparacio added the third to put Alvernia up big after three quarters. 
  • Delaware Valley tallied a goal in the first four minutes of the final quarter but the Golden Wolves responded with two more in the final ten minutes to secure the 16-2 victory over the Aggies.
