Golden Wolves Complete Three Game Sweep Over The Pride

Chester, Pa (March 29, 2025) - Alvernia University (13-10, 6-3) swept the day with a victory in completion of the series' first game that was delayed due to darkness, they then followed up with wins in games two and three over Widener University (13-12, 5-3) completing the sweep in a MAC Commonwealth series matchup at Widener.

Alvernia began as the home team in Chester, resuming game one in the top of the 13th inning. After a scoreless frame in the 14th inning, the Pride were able to scratch a run across. Alvernia entered the bottom half down 4-3, and were able to use timely hitting to tie the game and get the winning run to score on a dropped third strike. In game two the Golden Wolves needed one inning to get the job done, as a four run second inning and a complete game shutout by Nick Ferraioli propelled them to a 4-0 victory. The Golden Wolves came out and controlled game three from the beginning after a three run first gave them a lead they'd never see go away. Completing the three game sweep winning 5-3 after a strong pitching performance from Tyler Weil-Kaspar and Ronald Kopcho.
