How it Happened
- The Greyhounds loaded the bases with one out in the top of the first, and they emptied the bases with a grand slam to deep center off the bat of Kyra Holtje to take the early 4-0 lead. The Golden Wolves retired the next two batters to get out of the inning.
- Alvernia led off its half of the first with a double from Alexia Fitzgerald to right field to put a runner in scoring position with no outs. The Golden Wolves then progressed to bases loaded with one out after back-to-back walks on Angelina Sponheimer and Brooke Hauck. The Greyhounds made an early pitching change, but walked Meryn Bellacima to drive in Alvernia's first run of the game. Jaclyn Barbera then hit a sacrifice fly to deep center to drive in Sponheimer and make it a 4-2 game. The Greyhounds retired the next batter and took the 4-2 lead into the second.
- Moravian tacked onto its lead with an RBI double to make it a 5-2 game in the top of the third. The Greyhounds tacked on one more run in the third on an infield ground out to take a 6-2 lead into the bottom of the third.
- The Greyhounds then took a 7-2 lead in the top of the fourth. Holly Walter hit a one out triple for Moravian, and came around to score on a sacrifice hit to center field.
- Alvernia got out of a bases loaded jam in the top of the fifth to keep it a five-run game, 7-2, but the Greyhounds added to their lead in the top of the sixth. Moravian picked up two more runs on a two-run double to deep left center, and made it an 11-2 game on a two-run single to right field.
- The Golden Wolve put one base-runner on in the bottom of the sixth, but could not threaten as the Greyhounds took the 11-2 win.

- After a scoreless two innings to open the game up, Alvernia put its first runner in scoring position in the top of the third when Mikayla Eckman walked to lead off the inning and advanced to second on a Payton Splain sacrifice bunt. But, the Gusties retired the next two batters to send the game into the bottom of the third tied at 0-0.
- Alvernia put two runners on - Summer Montgomery and Angelina Sponheimer - with back-to-back walks to lead off the fourth. Another walk on Taylor McClain loaded the bases for the Golden Wolves with two outs, but the Gusties got out of the inning on a strikeout to end the threat and keep it at 0-0.
- The Gusties quickly put runners on second and third with no outs to lead off the bottom of the fourth. Gustavus then broke the 0-0 tie on a hard hit ball back at the pitcher. Ashlyn Hillanbrand was able to knock it down, but the run came home and scored. Alvernia limited the damage there and got out of the inning trailing 1-0.
- Alvernia led off the fifth with its sixth walk of the game, this time on Splain. Montgomery joined her on base with two outs on Alvernia's seventh walk of the game. Sponheimer then broke up the Gustavus no-hit bid with a double to the left gap to tie the game at 1-1. Brooke Hauck loaded the bases backup on another walk, but Gustavus got out of the inning on a play at third base.
- The 1-1 tie did not last long as the Gusties led off the bottom of the fifth with back-to-back doubles to take a 2-1 lead. Gustavus then added to its lead on another double to make it 3-1.
- Alvernia led off the sixth with a leadoff double from Taylor McClain. McClain then came around to score on a fielder's choice by Mikayla Eckman. The Gusties went for the play on McClain, but the third baseman mishandled the ball as McClain took home. Later in the inning, Alvernia loaded the bases on a Jaclyn Barbera walk with no outs. Alexia Fitzgerald then drove in Gianna Ordanoff and Splain to give Alvernia the 4-3 lead. The Gusties got out of the inning, but Alvernia took the 4-3 lead into the bottom of the sixth.
- The back and forth continued in the bottom of the sixth, with the Gusties tying it back up at 4-4 on an outfield single. Alvernia did not allow the Gusties to retake the lead as the game moved into the seventh tied at 4-4.
- After Gustavus retired Alvernia 1-2-3 in the top of the seventh, Alvernia returned the favor with a 1-2-3 inning of its own in the bottom half of the seventh to send the game to extras.
- After struggling to string together hits, Alvernia's bats came alive in the top of the eighth. Alvernia got the inning started with Splain advancing Mady Polonsky - who was the tie-breaker placed on second base - on a sacrifice fly. Polonsky then came around and scored on an error on an attempt at Keana Noel. Fitzgerald then walked to put two runners on, and both Fitzgerald and Noel came around to score on an error on the force play on Noel during the at-bat of Summer Montgomery to make it a 7-4 game. Alvernia kept it rolling and Hauck singled to center to bring in Montgomery. Alvernia capped off the inning on an RBI single by McClain to bring in Hauck and make it an 8-4 game.
- The Golden Wolves retired the side, never allowing the ITB to advance a bag, as Alvernia picked up the 8-4 win.
