Golden Wolves Fly by Ravens, 18-2

Rosemont, Pa (March 5, 2025) - Alvernia University (3-1) held Rosemont College (0-4) scoreless through three quarters and surrendered just two goals all game to power the Golden Wolves to a 18-2 victory over Rosemont in a non-conference men's lacrosse matchup Wednesday afternoon at Rosemont. 

The Golden Wolves scored nine goals in the first half and then added nine more in the second half en route to the 16 goal victory over the Ravens. The Golden Wolves have won their last two games by an average of 17 goals. 

How it Happened 
  • The Golden Wolves netted six goals in the opening stanza to jump out to an early lead over the Ravens. Charles Oberman opened things up with a goal in the first five minutes of the quarter and then added a second five minutes later to make it 2-0 Alvernia. 
  • Alvernia then scored four goals in the final five minutes of the first quarter to take a 6-0 lead into the second quarter. Ethan McManus found the back of the net at the five minute mark on a man-up opportunity and then Jack Kenney recorded a goal 30 seconds later to push the lead to 4-0. 
  • Zackary Moats tallied a goal in the final three minutes of the game to push it to a 5-0 lead and then Oberman completed his first quarter hat trick to put Alvernia up 6-0 after the first 15 minutes of play. 
  • Alvernia pushed the lead to nine after a three goal second period and took a 9-0 lead into the halftime break. Oberman netted his fourth of the game in the first five minutes of the second quarter and then Jack Keenan and Moats both found the back of the cage in the final six minutes of the first half to put the Golden Wolves up 9-0. 
  • Dane Sabarese recorded four saves in the first half to keep the Ravens scoreless. It was also the second straight game that the Golden Wolves defense held their opponents scoreless in the first half. 
  • The Golden Wolves continued to pepper the goal and added five more goals to the tally in the third quarter. James Sparacio tallied three goals all in the third quarter, McManus added his second of the game and Kenny Howley added his name to the scoresheet with a goal as the Golden Wolves took a 14-0 advantage into the final quarter. 
  • The Golden Wolves surrendered two goals in the final quarter but also tallied four goals of their own to secure the 18-2 victory over the Ravens. McManus and Keenan both tallied goals and Sparacio tallied two in the fourth quarter. 

Inside the Box Score
  • Charles Oberman and Jack Keenan led the Golden Wovles on the offensive side of things with five points each. Oberman tallied four goals and added an assist and Keenan netted two goals and dished out three assists. 
  • James Sparacio recorded a team high five goals, Ethan McManus tallied three goals and one assist and Zackary Moats netted two goals and added two assists. 
  • Kenny Howley recorded a goal and an assist and Jack Kenney netted his first goal of the season and also won 18 faceoffs. 
  • Dane Sabarese recorded the win in net for Alvernia and tallied four saves in two quarters of play and did not allow a goal. 
  • Jack Mancha tallied two saves in one quarter of play and also did not allow a goal and Nathan Bryne tallied four saves in net.
