Golden Wolves in Second Through Day One of Spartan Invitational

York, Pa. (Apr. 13, 2025) - Alvernia Women's Golf posted a first round score of 320 on Sunday and is in second place at the York College Spartan Invitational, hosted at Regents Glen Country Club.

McKylie Boreman and Emmerson Bartley led Alvernia with  first round scores of 7-over 79. Both are tied for third place and are three strokes off the leader. 

Alvernia is five strokes off of York College as a team. The Spartans posted a first round score of 315 on their home course.

Boreman started her day going even par through the first three holes. She gave two strokes back on the fourth before carding a birdie on the fifth. Boreman made the turn at 1-over. She found trouble on the first three holes over the back nine, but settled in and finished the final six holes at 2-over for a round of 79.

Bartley started her day with a bogey on the first before firing off seven pars over the next eight holes to make the turn at 2-over. She posted three straight pars to start off her back nine before giving two strokes back on 13 and 14. She birdied the 15th and 18th holes, but found trouble 16 and 17 for her round of 79.

Both Cassidy Miksich and Katie Lapinsky carded rounds of 9-over 81 and are in a five-way tie for sixth place.

Miksich posted a front nine score of 7-over 43 with five pars. She then went 2-over on the back nine, and was even par through the final seven holes that included a birdie on the 13th. She finished the back nine at 2-over for her round of 81

Lapinsky went 6-over on the front nine with five pars. After a bogey on the 10th, Lapinsky rattled off six straight pars on the back nine. She finished the back nine at 3-over for her round of 81.

Rylee Stenzel played as Alvernia's fifth. She carded an 85 and is in a tie for 15th. Stenzel's round was highlighted by six pars and a birdie on the 10th.

Both Paige Damon and Grace Spielman played as individuals for the Golden Wolves. Spielman is in a tie for 26th following a round of 92. She had three pars on her day and posted a birdie on the fourth. Damon is in 30th with a round of 104. She had four pars on the day.

Alvernia is back at Regents Glen on Monday morning for the second and final round of the York Invitational.
