Boreman Low-Medalist, Alvernia Second at York Invitational

York, Pa. (Apr. 14, 2025) - McKylie Boreman earned her eighth low-medalist honor of the year and led Alvernia to a second place finish at the York College Invitational on Monday at Regents Glen Country Club.

The Golden Wolves posted a second day team score of 312, improving by eight strokes from their day one score of 320 for a two-day total of 632. But, the host Spartans went low on Monday, posting a team score of 305. That combined with its day one score of 315 gave York the team win with a two-day total of 620.

Boreman posted a two-day total of 153. After posting a 79 on day one, Boreman carded a 74 on day two and took low-medalist honors by two strokes. Boreman posted a clean card on the front night, paring every hole to make the turn at an even 36. She gave a stroke back on the tenth, and, after a par on the 11th, picked it right back with a birdie on the 12th to move back to even. Boreman pared the 13th, but went 2-over the rest of the way with a birdie on the 16th for her round of 2-over 74. 

Katie Lapinsky finished in second for Alvernia and in a tie for third overall with a two-day total of 157. Lapinsky posted a second day score of 76, a five stroke improvement from Sunday's round. Lapinsky made the turn at 3-over with six pars on the front nine. She moved to 2-under on the day with a birdie on the par four tenth. Lapinsky then gave three strokes back over the next five holes. But, she settled in to close out her round with pars on 16 and 17 and a birdie on the par four 18th for her round of 4-over 76.

Emmerson Bartley finished in third for Alvernia and in a tie for seventh overall with a two-day score of 160. Bartley posted a 9-over 81 on Monday. She finished her day with ten pars, five on each nine.

Cassidy Miksich finished in fourth for Alvernia and in tenth overall with a two-day score 162 off of back-to-back rounds of 81. Miksich played a near-even front nine, posting six pars and a birdie on the fifth. She finished the back nine with another four pars for her round of 81.

Rylee Stenzel finished as Alvernia's fifth player and took 18th overall with a two-day total of 171. Stenzel posted a round of 86 on Monday with eight pars, six of which came on the front nine.

Grace Spielman and Paige Damon played as individuals for the Golden Wolves. Spielman took 26th with a two-day total of 180, including an 88 on Monday. Spielman finished her second round with seven pars. Damon finished in 36th overall with a two-day total of 199, including a 95 on Monday. Damon finished her second round with five pars, including four on the front nine.

Alvernia is back in action on Thursday at the Bloomsburg Invitational. It is the final event for Alvernia before the 2025 MAC Women's Golf Championship on April 26-27 at Golden Oaks.
