Alvernia Opens Up 2025-2026 Campaign at Dickinson’s Fall Invitational

Carlisle, Pa (September 7, 2025) - Shawn Williams led Alvernia University with a team low round of 73 to pace the Golden Wolves on day one of the Dickinson Fall Invitational at Carlisle Barracks Golf Club Sunday afternoon.

The Golden Wolves rolled out two teams in the season opener and five of the ten Golden Wolves recorded scores in the 70's. Alvernia's Maroon team is in a tie for 17th and the Gold team is in 16th place overall.

Shawn Williams recorded a two over 73 on the day and bounced back on the back nine and fired in a two under 34 on the back nine after a four over 39 on the front. Williams is currently in a tie for 22nd place.

Zachary Neuin recorded a 75 in his collegiate debut after a 37 on the front nine and a 38 on the back nine. Neuin is currently in a tie for 39th place. Chase Smith is in a tie for 58th place and posted a 77 in his Alvernia debut after a 38 on the front nine and a 39 on the back, Jakob Chapman recorded a 78 in the season opener and bounced back with a two over 38 on the back nine after a four over 40 on the front nine holes. Brock Mueller rounded out the Golden Wolves in the 70's and recorded a 39 on the front and a 40 on the back nine to post a 79 in his collegiate debut.

Jacob DeWitt and Matthew Overholt both fired in scores of 80 in their college debuts, Matthew Gagliardi tallied an 83 in round one and Matt Davies and Kenton Lightburn posted 87's to round out the scores for the Golden Wolves.
