Colmar, Pa. (Jan. 16, 2026) - Arcadia University (9-4-2, 7-3-1) scored four unanswered goals to down Alvernia University (8-5-0, 7-4-0), 4-2, in MAC Women's Ice Hockey action at Arcadia's Hatfield Ice Arena.

Alvernia got off to a fast start, scoring two goals in the first minute of action. Alvernia took the 2-0 lead into the second period, but the Knights put up three goals in the first eight minutes of action to take a 3-2 lead. Arcadia then added an insurance goal in the third period to secure the 4-2 win.

After the Knights had to start the game with a player in the penalty box, Alvernia won the opening faceoff and needed just 23 seconds to get on the board. Alexis Oliveira skated past the Knights and fired in a shot into the opposite corner of the net to give Alvernia the early 1-0 lead.

Just 30 seconds later, the Golden Wolves doubled-up on their early lead as Addy Gularte scored off an Arcadia turnover. Gularte fired bar-down to give the Golden Wolves the 2-0 lead through under a minute of action.

After a scoreless remainder of the first period, the Knights came out of the first intermission firing. Arcadia got on the board two minutes into the second period, and evened the game at 2-2 three minutes later. The Knights then took the lead, 3-2, with 12 minutes to play in the period. The Golden Wolves had three shots on goal in the final five minutes of the period, but could not get a goal back.

Arcadia added an insurance goal in the opening two minutes of the third period to take the 4-2 lead. The Golden Wolves had seven shots on net in the final frame, but could not find the back of the net again as Arcadia took the 4-2 win.

Alexis Oliveira and Addy Gularte finished with a goal each. Belle Derosiers finished with 42 saves in her collegiate debut in net. 

Alvernia is back at Arcadia on Saturday looking to even the series.
