Hamilton, Cottrell and Dearry Named All-MAC Commonwealth

Reading, Pa. (March 4, 2026) - Alvernia University's Elijah Hamilton, Robert Cottrell and Rasheem Dearry all earned All-MAC Commonwealth honors for their performances during the 2025-2026 season as announced by the Middle Atlantic Conference Wednesday. 

Hamilton and Cottrell both earned Second Team All-MAC Commonwealth honors and Dearry followed with an Honorable Mention All-MAC Commonwealth nod. 

Hamilton, a junior, played in 24 of Alvernia's 25 games in his junior campaign and started in all 24 of those games. Hamilton recorded 801 total minutes played and scored 426 points, which ranked him seventh in the Commonwealth and his 33.4 minutes per game was the fifth most in the conference. Hamilton posted the sixth most points per game in the Commonwealth with 17.8 points per game and also grabbed 177 rebounds, which ranked eighth in the conference. Of those 177 rebounds, 60 came on the offensive glass and that ranked him fifth in the Commonwealth. Hamilton led the Commonwealth in field goal percentage with a 58.5% FG percentage on the year and his 24 blocks were the sixth most in the conference. This is Hamilton's second All-MAC Commonwealth honor after a Second Team All-MAC Commonwealth nod last season. 

Robert Cottrell, a sophomore, also earned a Second Team All-MAC Commonwealth selection as a guard and started in 19 games for the Golden Wolves. Cottrell recorded 739 total minutes played, scored 356 points and knocked down 36 three pointers. Cottrell averaged 17 points per game and his 17 PPG ranked him seventh in the Commonwealth and his 96 free throws ranked sixth in the conference. Cottrell also shot the three at a 40.5% clip this season and that was the fifth best percentage in the Commonwealth. Cottrell recorded 35 steals in 2025-2026, which was the seventh most in the Commonwealth and his 35.2 minutes per game was the second most in the conference. This is Cottrell's first All-MAC Commonwealth honor of his career but was named the MAC Commonwealth Rookie of the Year last season. 

Dearry, a senior, rounded out the Golden Wolves with All-MAC Commonwealth honors and earned an Honorable Mention All-MAC Commonwealth nod. Dearry played in all 25 games for the Golden Wolves, started in 24 games and racked up a team high 840 minutes played. Dearry's 840 minutes played was the fourth most in the Commonwealth and his 33.6 minutes per game ranked him in a tie for the third most in the conference. Dearry scored the eighth most points in the Commonwealth with 403 total points and his 53 three pointers was the seventh most in the conference. Dearry grabbed 121 total rebounds, posted a 89.2% free throw percentage, which led the Commonwealth. This is Dearry's first All-MAC Commonwealth honor of his career. 

Hood's Jevon Yarbrough earned Player of the Year honors in the Commonwealth, Albright's Phanique Dupree was the Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight season and TJ Bryson from Widener earned Commonwealth Rookie of the Year honors. Chad Dickman was named Coach of the Year after leading the Blazers to a 24-3 overall record and a MAC Commonwealth title.
